Man jailed for marrying his 15 year old granddaughter

Villagers in Jibajiba, Lupane in Zimbabwe were shocked to learn that a 50 year old man had married his 15 year old granddaughter.
He insisted that he had not committed any crime because he had proposed love to the girl when she had fully developed into womanhood.
He was initially approached by police because they had been told he had taken a child for a wife. The police were shocked to discover that the child was also the man's grandchild.
The young girl has apparently proclaimed that she loved her 'husband.'
The man has been sentenced to 30 months in prison for the offence and the girl is reported to have begged for her grandfather to be freed.
