Thieves torture pensioner for US$8

Two thieves tortured Jika Min, 67, last week on Thursday night after they broke through a window into the five-room house where he lives alone in section J, Botshabelo, Free State, South Africa.
They woke him up roughly, demanding money.
"When I told them I had no money, they said they would cut my eye from its socket with a knife," said Jika.
"I had R95 under my pillow. One took an iron, plugged it in and put it on my body while the other one held me," he said.
Jika said the torture lasted for almost 30 minutes.
"I thought I would die from the terrible pain," he said.
"I finally gave in and told them I had a little money under my pillow.
"They took my last money and the cellphone," said the badly burnt old man.
The thugs told him to close the door behind them when they left.
He screamed for help and neighbours called an ambulance.
Jika was treated at the National Hospital in Bloemfontein for two days.
