Mentally ill son (19) burns family house to the ground

A Harare family has been left homeless after their house was destroyed by a fire.
The family’s 19-year old son, who is mentally ill, is suspected to have started the fire that destroyed the 7-roomed houses at Number 206 Sherwood Drive, Avondale West, belonging to the Marawu family.
No one was injured in the incident.
Gogo Gladys Mutsure, the family’s maternal grandmother told ZBC News that the fire started from the 19-year old's room.
Efforts by neighbours to put off the fire were fruitless and by the time the Fire Brigade arrived, property worth US$1000 had been destroyed.
