"Drunkard" ex-wife assaulted for neglecting children

A Sunningdale wife in Harare accused of being a gossiper by her hubby got a thorough beating from him.
Sharleen Manyere aged 19 had a domestic quarrel with her sweetheart Rodney Chikudza (24) on May 11 around 7pm.
She was accused of being a rumour monger in the neighbourhood and Rodney got to know it through "worried neighbours", a Mbare magistrate, Vicky Mashamba heard.
After the confrontation which failed to yield any positive outcome, Rodney got fed up and beat up his wife sustaining injuries.
Manyere managed to break lose and reported to the police leading to Rodney's arrest.
In court, he was slapped with a $100 fine or 30 days in jail. He pleaded guilty to assault.
