Five members of a family from Bulawayo's Pumula South suburb in Zimbabwe who perished in a house inferno on Tuesday have been buried at West Park Cemetery.
Ms Motilia Tshuma (27) and her eldest child Nobuhle Mpofu (5) were buried next to each other while Brian (6 months), Kudzai (3) and their cousin Ashley Moyo (4) were buried at the children's cemetery.
The family thanked everyone who assisted them during the difficult time and ruled out foul play.
Family spokesperson, Mr Hloniphani Moyo said; "Thank you very much for assisting me in the burial of my sister and the four children.
"Despite being still shaken by this horribly shocking incident, we do not suspect any foul play because death is the destiny of all."
The four children died on Tuesday morning while the mother died on Thursday from the severe burns she sustained in an attempt to rescue her children who had been trapped in the inferno.
The fire was reportedly caused by a candle that was left unattended.
Bulawayo City Council acting chief fire officer Mr Linos Phiri confirmed that the fire was caused by a candle.
"The fire that occurred at Pumula South was started by a candle.
"We urge members of the public to ensure that candles are blown out when they have finished using them in order to avoid such fatalities," said Mr Phiri.
