LITTLE - KNOWN Zimbabwe-born midfielder David Moyo scored his first senior goal for Northampton Town FC as the Cobblers booked their place in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy area quarter-final with a 2-1 win at Portsmouth in the English League 2.
Moyo and substitute Kaid Mohamed were on the mark at Fratton Park on Tuesday night for a well-deserved win which advances Northampton to the next stage of the competition.
The Harare born Moyo is hardly known at home but has been make a name for himself in England. Moyo signed a new one-year professional deal with the League Two side Northampton City nicknamed the Cobblers.
The 19-year old academy product Moyo made his Cobblers debut in 2012 and has 13 appearances in total.
"We feel David has got a bright future," said manager Chris Wilder when he signed Moyo. "There is more to come from him than supporters may have seen so far.
"He's got pace which is frightening but we need to work on his skills and his technical ability."
Previously, Moyo has played for Corby on loan for one month. Zimbabwe boasts of huge pool of players plying their football in foreign lands but are hardly known in their country of birth. Most of the players have never being called to represent Zimbabwe at youth and senior level.
