Zapu has announced that it has rescheduled its party's 10th congress to the end of August, after the event which was meant for December last year was cancelled due to financial constrains.
The new date was agreed at Zapu’s national people’s council quarterly meeting held in Bulawayo on Saturday.
Dumiso Dabengwa the Zapu leader said the party had trust on those given the mandate to organize the event.
The party also welcomed the initiative by members of its former armed wing, Zipra, to form an independent association to fight for their welfare.
Ex-Zipra combatants severed ties with the Zanu PF affiliated Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) last month, accusing the association’s executives of being partisian.
