A tout from Gweru,Tinashe Chimhangwa, 22, has been charged for impersonating a police office, and duped other touts of $4 in the process
It is alleged that Chimhangwa was carrying an Outpost magazine when he falsely arrested Bernard Mutambara and Collen Mhlanga.
Chimhangwa is said to have demanded a bribe from the two, who in turn asked him to show them his police identity card resulting in him being dragged to the police station after.
In his defence, Chimhangwa said the two touts made a false report against him because one of them owes him money.
He pleaded not guilty and was remanded out of custody to meet judgment today.
