A 105-year-old woman from Gititu village in Embu East in Kenya is recovering at the Kyeni Mission Hospital after she was gang-raped on Sunday night by gangsters.
The centenarian great grandmother, who lives alone, was allegedly assaulted by thugs who broke into her house at 2am and dragged her out of her bed.
Her granddaughter, who lives on the same farm, said she found her crying in pain beside her bed where the thugs had left her.
Embu police boss Gasper Makau condemned the incident saying it is embarrassing that anybody can rape such an elderly woman.
Residents are now calling on the local provincial administration to stem out the vice by curbing illicit brew.
