MDC-T Congratulates Human Right Lawyers (ZLHR)

The MDC-T pays homage to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) for honouring lawyers, Raymond Moyo and Charles Kwaramba for their sterling job in defending human rights and promoting democracy in Zimbabwe.
Given that the world has just celebrated the Human Rights day, this gesture could not have come at any better time. The MDC-T takes this opportunity to acknowledge Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights for their unbridled resolve to defend and protect all the victims of abuse and violence as we march towards real transformation.
We remain anchored in our vision of a new Zimbabwe, where there is a healthy fusion of a culture of unhindered participation in all aspects and spheres of life by every person. It is encouraging to note that as lawyers for human rights, you have unequivocally and fearlessly stood firm and unfazed in the struggle for the respect for human dignity.
We are also encouraged by the fact that, as the democratisation wave is still sweeping across the continent and ordinary people, through civil society and other interest groups are demanding their political space and access to national opportunities, you have stood guard against those that seek to frustrate and subjugate the wishes and aspiration of these people in their quest for self determination.
As we approach election time next year, we continue to preach the gospel of peace and we call upon our political nemesis to respect the rule of law and let the people freely express their choice of who they want to be governed by.
We derive courage from the knowledge that the challenges in our way are not designed to make us fail but to test our strength of character and the depth of our desire for what we are seeking to achieve.
