In an incident which sounds like a snapshot from one of Oprah Winfrey's shows, a Form One girl took a weird approach to register her regret of losing her virginity when she wrote a composition about herself.
The composition by the 14-year-old girl from parson Farm in Bulawayo, attending Induna High School which was intercepted by her mother before she took it to school was reportedly emblazoned with unnerving experiences of the day she lost her virginity.
The creative piece of writing which was adorned with events of a true life story was reportedly titled 'THE DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET".
The larger than life story came out during the initial appearance of a 21-year-old man before Bulawayo magistrate Mrs Gentrude Mushowe. The man was being charged with having sex with a minor.
It is reported that sometime in May this year the man, (name withheld to protect the identity of the minor), proposed love to the girl and the she accepted the proposal. The two reportedly started to hit it off behind the girl's parents' back. It is further alleged that in June the girl visited her boyfriend at his lodgings at the farm compound and he allegedly solicited for sex from her.
The court heard that the girl at first turned him down but later consented after being promised heaven on earth! After graduating to the world of womanhood at a tender age, the girl did not reveal the experiences of the escapade with her boyfriend to anyone but went on to write a composition about herself revealing that she was no longer a virgin.
As fate would have it, the articulate composition was intercepted by the girl's mother before it was taken to school. The mother got the shock of her life when she discovered that her daughter had already lost her purity. She questioned her daughter and the young girl disclosed that the composition was a true life story of her experiences on the day 'her monkey first ate a banana'.
The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the accused. The man, however, denied the allegations. He is remanded out of custody on free bail.
