Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye's fight to stay out of prison continues.
The convicted rapper is expected to appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court next week to apply for bail pending his appeal.
His lawyer Rudi Krause confirmed that Jub Jub will be in court on 13 September.
Krause said: "He will be applying for bail pending his appeal. He petitioned the high court and was successful."
This would be Jub Jub's third appeal for bail extension since his
conviction last October. He first appealed before magistrate Brian Nemavhidi in February and his appeal was refused.
He then went to the South Gauteng High Court and failed.
Judge Nico Coetzee said he agreed with the Protea Magistrate's Court's finding that Maarohanye had failed to prove exceptional circumstances to support the extension of his bail.
"There appears to be little, if any, supporting grounds advanced by him," said Coetzee.
Jub Jub and his friend Themba Tshabalala were sentenced after their speeding Mini Coopers crashed into Prince
Mohube, Mlungisi Cwayi, Andile Mthombeni and Phomello Masemola leaving them dead.
Jub Jub's lawyer's argument was that according to the evidence before the court, it was Tshabalala's car that crashed into the schoolchildren.
