Justin Bieber's mentor has revealed to the SUN the singer has sought divine help in what is the darkest time of his career.
Preacher Judah Smith, 34, also told how he has been sending his pal Bible excerpts from his base in Seattle, US, to calm him down.
He said: “He feels under pressure. Every eyeball is on your life. I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.
“This is the first challenge he’s had in life, but it won’t be the last.
“I give Justin encouragement. Take time to say to God, ‘I’m over my head here. I need your help’.
“He has coping methods like turning and talking to God and practising the ancient scriptures.
“We exchange scriptures every day. Justin asks, ‘God if you’re there, I need help. I don’t know what decision to make’.”
The pair met three years ago through the singer’s deeply religious mum Pattie Mallette — a leading anti-abortion campaigner in the US.
Just a few days ago, Bieber praised his mentor on Twitter.
He wrote: “Love to my big bro Judah. I love u man u inspire me. When u have a moment of weakness ask god to be with you and bring his peace. I know for a fact it helps.”
However, Bieber’s week in the UK has been a disaster.
He arrived two hours late for a gig at London’s O2 on Monday before being rushed to hospital with breathing difficulties two nights later.
Since his split from girlfriend Selena Gomez, 20, Bieber’s lifestyle has rung alarm bells.
He was photographed smoking weed at a party in LA and has befriended rap bad boys such as Lil Wayne, who went to prison in 2010 on gun charges.
But Judah insists his pal, who shot to fame in 2009 aged just 15, is not in “meltdown”.
He said: “What he does is a pretty big job, especially at such a young age. You’re going to make mistakes.”
Bieber has more than 35million followers on Twitter who hang on his every word — but Judah insists he can still feel desperately lonely.
He said: “The celebrities I love and am walking through life with are some of the most isolated and alone people in the world.
“Social media makes me wonder if this leads to more loneliness. You think you’re interacting with the world — but in fact you’re on your own sitting by a computer screen.”
