The indigenisation Act, enacted by the Zanu-PF led government is chasing away prospective investors willing to bring their business to Zimbabwe,a prominent Chinese businessman has said.
The official, who declined to be named, said the country had close to 200 Chinese companies and most of them had complied with Indigenisation Act.
An official from the Chinese business community revealed that new and prospective companies were finding it hard to understand the policies in Zimbabwe.
The source said there was also the issue of the agreement signed in 1996 between Zimbabwe and China, to where the Chinese business community wanted to know whether it would be considered.
Zimbabwe last year signed investment deals with the Asian giant, covering various sectors of the economy.
Meanwhile, France's Ambassador to Zimbabwe and Malawi, Laurent Delahousse, has said all 15 French companies operating in the country were compliant with the Indigenisation law.
