Hamutendi Kombayi, Gweru mayor, his deputy Artwell Matyorauta and Town Clerk Daniel Matawu, who allegedly spent municipality money on Morgan Tsvangirai, have been granted bail on charges of criminal abuse of office and theft.
The three are accused that they payed for Tsvangirai's private visit at Antelope Park Resort and Fairmile Motel with tax payers money.
The trio was granted $200 bail each after the state failed to provide compelling reasons to deny them bail.
Kombayi, Matyorauta and Matawu will be back in court on April 15 for trial.
Some factions on social media have been calling for Tsvangirai to replace the money spent upon him.
