Hyenas are feeling the pinch of the drought and have started invading homesteads, killing livestock in Gwanda South Villages.
The most affected villages are those in Ward 24 which is surrounded by conservancies.
Cattle, goats and donkeys are mainly targeted.
Ward 14 councillor, Alphios Tlou, yesterday said they had reported the matter to the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Authority (Zimparks) for help in dealing with the hyenas.
Some people are afraid that as the hyenas become more desperate for food they may end up targeting them.
