Chitungwiza based Zanu PF activist were hurled before the courts facing charges of assault, theft and malicious damage to property after they allegedly raided a privately owned car park in the town.
The five suspects, Enest Kafere (33), Arbson Chipere (32), Simon Shumba (28), Nicholas Gweje (34) and Patience Mushave (30), were not asked to plead and were remanded out of custody to March 8 this year.
It is alleged that on February 15 this year, the crew stormed Paul Chakaingesu's car park and ordered him to remove his car park from where it was allocated.
The five are said to have claimed that the car park had encroached into an area earmarked for Gweje's mobile money booth.
The youths assaulted Chakaingesu and removed off his boundary fence.
Chakaingesu managed to escape and filed a criminal report at the police station and when he came back, he found most of his goods, including his mobile phone, stolen.
