Man bashed by prostitute for choosing another sex worker over her

A Harare prostitute bashed a prospective client for deciding to have sex with another prostitute and not herself.
The Marlborough East-based, 23-year-old Blessing Chaka, appeared before Chitungwiza magistrate facing assault charges.
The self-confessed sex vendor denied the allegations but was convicted after State provided overwhelming evidence against her.
The State, led by prosecutor Rumbidzai Mushonga, alleged that on 19 January, Chaka was drinking beer with the complainant, Lovemore Karanyika (34) who resides in St Mary's, Chitungwiza. The two were drinking the wise waters at Paramount night club in Chitungwiza. It is reported that Karanyika had promised to order Chaka's sexual services after drinking beer.
It is reported that Karanyika then saw Chaka's friend, who had voluptuous butt and sexually appealing breasts. The prostitutes' customer then made an imminent U-turn and decided to get intimate with Chaka's friend. But the 23-year-old sex-smith would not let her friend destroy her business.
Chaka then grabbed an empty bottle of the beer that Karanyika had bought for her, then used it to bash the 34-year-old man's head. The complainant's head sustained a deep cut as a result of the attack and he produced a medical affidavit in court as evidence.
Magistrate Lazarus Murendo who presided over the case blasted the self-confessed sex-smith for being violent towards her customer.
"Courts are always lenient with female first offenders and it appears as if they are now taking advantage of that. There is need to pass deterrent sentences to send a clear message to the society at large," he said.
The magistrate who was in no-nonsense mood slapped Chaka with a 10-month jail sentence before suspending four months on condition of good behaviour. The remaining months shall be effective. Chaka will languish behind bars for the next six months and will only be back to prostitution business in August this year.
