25-year-old Zukisani Ngcoya (25) was stabbed to death on Sunday, allegedly by his friend, for flirting with his girlfriend.
The incident happened while Zukisani and friends were drinking at a tavern in Etete near KwaDukuza, north of Durban, SA.
Sinethemba Ndodo (21), who worked with Zukisani as a bricklayer, told Daily Sun that he witnessed the stabbing.
"He was my best friend and we came here to work from Lusikisiki.
"Zukisani was a good person with good values. I don't know how this could have happened.
"He had a girlfriend we knew and it was really shocking that he died because of
another women. We still can't believe this," he said.
Zukisani's employer Sharinanan Malal (64), said she found out what had happened when Zukisani jumped over her fence.
"We rushed outside and he was on the doorstep. I had never seen anyone bleeding like that before.
"I was terrified. I'm still trying to trace his family because I never met any of them.
"I appeal to anyone who knows his family to come forward," she said.
Zukisani died on his way to hospital. He left behind two kids.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Solomon Mbele said: "Umhlali Police Station
detectives are investigating a case of murder.
"No arrest has been made."
