A businessman who rebuilt his bungalow into a mansion must carry out another drastic conversion.
He has been ordered to convert the sprawling seven-bedroom home into a pile of rubble.
Raza Shah must demolish the house, worth an estimated £2million, because the extension is FOUR TIMES the size of what he was given permission for.
But Mr Shah has claimed the gigantic size difference was a result of "minor adjustments" to the plans that were agreed by the council.
He said: "I have put all my savings into this. This is a nightmare."
Mr Shah, who runs beauty salons, bought the five-bed bungalow for £750,000 in 2008 and got permission in 2011 to build an extension.
Central Bedfordshire council said the agreement was for the floor space to be increased by a maximum of 45% – but it has ended up being more like 200%.
It said the alterations amounted to a new building rather than an extension and issued Mr Shah with an order to bulldoze it.
Cllr Nigel Young confirmed: "This is well outside planning regulation."
Families in Barton-le-Clay, Bedfordshire, within an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Chiltern Hills, had complained that the super-sized structure was totally out of character with the area.
Mr Shah is said to be appealing against the authority's ruling.
