A 27-year-old Good Samaritan from Chivi in Masvingo, Zimbabwe, was robbed of $700 at gun point by two men she had offered a lift.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Peter Zhanero confirmed the incident which occurred on Monday at about 4pm.
He said the two men are still at large.
"We are handling an armed robbery case whereby two men allegedly pounced on an unsuspecting lady from Chivi who had given them a lift. They got away with money amounting to $700 from her," said Insp Zhanero.
The woman, Jane Chigudu was driving a Honda Fit from Chivi Growth Point to Mhandamabwe.
"Upon reaching Chivi Junction, she was stopped by two men who asked for a lift. She gave them the lift and one of the passengers sat in the front seat while his partner went to sit at the back," a source claimed.
He said when the woman arrived at the 10km peg along Chivi Junction -Mhandamabwe road, the man who was in front started interfering with her driving by trying to apply the hand brake. Chigudu reportedly moved off the road and parked her car.
At that point, the man who was seated on the front passenger seat demanded cash and the one who was seated at the back produced a pistol which he pointed at her.
They then searched her and found $700 which they took away and disappeared.
Ms Chigudu then drove back to Chivi Point Police Station where she reported the matter.
