A traditional healer from Bulawayo's Matshobana suburb in Zimbabwe was severely beaten by his client after he allegedly gave him fake HIV treatment herbs.
The client, Nicky Siwela has been receiving supposed HIV/AIDS curing herbs from a traditional healer identified as Khulu Ndlovu for the past two years.
However after adhering to the prescription for such a long time, Siwela's situation got worse.
His CD4 count reportedly went down prompting him to interrogate Ndlovu.
Siwela was hauled before Western Commonage magistrate, Mr Themba Chimiso to answer an assault charge.
He was not asked to plead but was remanded out of custody to 29 July.
The court heard that Siwela approached Ndlovu at his house and accused him of giving him wrong HIV/AIDS treatment.
After a verbal altercation, Siwela allegedly bashed Ndlovu's face rendering him partially blind for a few days.
Siwela was arrested after Ndlovu went to a clinic seeking treatment and was told to bring police report.
State prosecutor, Fiona Ncube told the court that early in the week, Siwela went to Ndlovu's house to inquire why he was not getting better.
It is said that he got angry after Ndlovu told him that he was sorry because he had been giving him cancer medication instead.
On hearing this, Siwela reportedly attacked the traditional healer and beat him up.
