A 63-year-old grandmother grieving for her murdered grandson, was going to be burnt after being accused of evil.
Fortunately brave neighbours stepped in and saved Elsie Molo.
Her grandson, Sicelo Molo, was kidnapped from a tavern in Mandela section, Bekkersdal, west of Johannesburg and beaten to death in 2011.
His body in a shallow grave on old mining land at Venterspos, near Westonaria.
After people found the body, Sicelo was given a decent burial.
"I will always miss him," said Elsie. "I loved him so much. His hand was disabled."
Since February, she has been in and out of hospital for breathing and mental problems.
Elsie was apparently found sleeping in a truck in a yard outside Mandela.
Someone reportedly said: "We found an evil person who fell from a loaf of bread."
Another resident said: "When we talk to her, she looks down. She says she drove a loaf of bread from Bloemfontein to Westonaria."
But Elsie's brave neighbour Nomnikelo Bangiso told the people: "Please be reasonable. How can a person possibly drive bread?
"Gogo Elsie is not evil she is sick. She came from Leratong Hospital on the West Rand."
Other neighbours took Elsie from the crowd, washed her and rubbed her with ointment.
The ward committee promised to send her back to hospital.
