The Boston Marathon bombing suspect's widow is drifting away from the stern Muslim rules he imposed upon her, sources say.
Katherine Russell, 24, has started wearing nail polish and eating Chipotle and other fast food.
Her late husband, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, reportedly forbid these.
"Before she fell under Tamerlan's spell, Katherine was just your average all-American girl," a source close to the family told the National Enquirer. "She was happy-go-lucky, and as her teachers have noted, not particularly religious."
Russell, who changed her name back to her maiden name from Karima Tsarnaev, has lived with her parents in North Kingstown, R.I. since Tamerlan's death.
"Katherine's family would like her to revert to her Christian faith," the source said. "They don't want to force it on her, but they're encouraging her, and Katherine is slowly starting to change."
Russell insists she knew nothing about the Boston Marathon bombing plans that killed three and injured 264, her attorney said.
Tamerlan's younger brother Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, told investigators that the bombs were assembled at the couple's small apartment in Cambridge, Mass.
But Russell's attorney said her long working hours kept her away from home during this time.
Nevertheless, Russell knew that Tamerlan could be vicious. He apparently subjected her to the harsh reprimands of a blatant misogynist routinely.
