A pastor from the House Of Twelve Apostles in South Africa promised to resurrect a man from the dead after three days.
Deceased 37-year-old Lucky Maswanganyi's sister, Cecelia Maswanganyi (30), told Daily Sun: "While we were at the Helen Joseph Hospital, my sister-in-law called Pastor Sikhukhuni about my brother's death.
"The pastor told her we should bring Lucky to his house.
"We explained to him that Lucky was dead and that we should take him to the mortuary."
Cecelia said she was shocked when the pastor said he could raise him from the dead.
Lucky's mum, Zondeka Maswanganyi (73), agreed to let the pastor take her son's body to his house and spend Sunday night with her daughter-in-law, Zinya (32).
By Monday morning Zinya was traumatised after sleeping in the same bed with her husband's corpse.
Cecelia said: "The pastor said it was vital for Lucky's resurrection that his wife be close to him.
"I knew my brother wouldn't rise from the dead, but because my mum wanted it, I kept quiet.
"After hearing my sisterin-law's story, I knew it was time we fetched my brother from the pastor's house."
The family called cops, who went to the house in Florida and took Lucky's body to the mortuary.
Lucky's mum told Daily Sun: "I was always doubtful, but I so badly wanted to believe that my son would live again.
"The pastor told me he had made someone rise from the dead before. I am just glad we will bury him in peace."
Gauteng police spokeswoman Lieutenant-Colonel Katlego Mogale said: "We have called for an inquest docket to be opened for investigation."
