The lorry-surfing boy has been reported to police by his own parents.

Titchhiker Sonny Wilson, 12 – who has been suspended from school – stunned drivers when he jumped on the back of a truck as it moved off.

Dad David fumed: "When I saw the footage I didn't even let it go all the way through before I was on the phone to the police. It was a stupid prank."

Sonny, who now faces a grilling from police, was seen dangling his feet from the HGV's bumper at speeds of up to 30mph.

When it slowed down he hopped off and gave a cheeky thumbs up.

A passenger in a car behind filmed the prank on a mobile phone and posted it on Facebook.

And David, 48, wasn't happy about that either.

He said: "I'm just as disgusted at the people who posted the video.

"They made no effort to warn the lorry driver or help prevent an accident. They just seem to be revelling in the stupidness on Facebook."

Sonny's mum Karen Brian, 48, backed the move to report her son to cops when she saw the video, which went viral.

"I want them to take him to the police station and instill the fear of God in him," she said.

"I just can't stop thinking about what could have happened."

The youngster, described as the "class clown", has been excluded from the 1,000 pupil Our Lady and St John's Catholic Arts College in Blackburn, Lancashire, where he is in Year 8.

Sonny said: "I just wasn't thinking about the consequences. I thought it was a laugh and a prank.

"I have done it once before when a lorry was still but this time I even scared myself.

"I didn't expect the lorry to set off. I couldn't get off because it was going so fast.

"Some of my friends thought it was funny but some thought I was stupid.

"I definitely won't be doing it again. I tried to contact the people who posted it on Facebook and asked them to take it down but they didn't."
