US - A 37-year-old would-be counterfeiter was busted when he tried to return a broken printer to Walmart - with a sheet of fake $100 bills still inside.
Jarad S. Carr was refused a refund when he brought the machine back to the Lake Hallie store on Thursday because he didn't have a receipt.
At first, he fruitlessly argued with workers as he tried to seal a discount.
Angry they would not replace the faulty device, and refusing to leave, he then ordered them to inspect it.
But unluckily for him, they found counterfeit money inside - and immediately called the police.
Incredibly, he still tried to negotiate a cut in the printer's price, even as officers were on their way over to the store.
Lake Hallie Police officers arresting Carr - who has been charged with attempted theft by fraud, forgery and resisting arrest - also found three additional fake $100 bills on his person.
Police Chief Cal Smokowicz told NBC News there were "a few lessons here about not drawing attention to yourself."
"You go to a Walmart with a printer to return and no receipt, with your counterfeit bills still lodged in it, and you want to dicker with the clerks to get half price back, when you have warrants out for you," Smokowicz added.
