South Africa - Ntebeleng Leboko, who is 21 now, fell pregnant in 2010. It took the father, who is now 28, seven months before he decided he didn't want his unborn child.
"He gave me R3 000 for an abortion" she said.
Ntebaleng also felt she wasn't ready to be a mum. "I went to a doctor in the Vaal who gave me a pill to drink. He said I should come back the next day when the baby will be dead."
But the baby wasn't dead!
That night, in spite of the tablet, Ntebaleng started bleeding and her mother and stepfather had to rush her to hospital.
"I didn't tell my mother and my stepdad about my pregnancy. I thought they would scream at me," she said.
The first time Mahlomola who is now 40, heard that his stepdaughter was pregnant was when the doctor spoke about the baby.
He told Daily Sun he was shocked when he heard what had happened . . .
The baby was born seven weeks' premature. "She didn't look healthy at all," he said.
For two weeks the little girl resisted death, but eventually gave up the fight. "All we could do was bury the baby and take Ntabeleng for counselling and support her after she explained what happened," said the sad dad.
But if Mahlomola thought it was the end of the story, he was mistaken.
He is haunted by the spirit of his dead grandchild.
"It's a terrible dream that happens all the time. I hardly sleep at night," he said.
Mahlomola said he suspects the child is haunting him because she wants justice done.
"We opened a case against the doctor who did the abortion but he was never arrested and I never received a case number," he said. "I even confronted him and he refunded us the R3 000, but the haunting is still there - and it is getting worse," he said.
He said the cops have warned him that he could be arrested if he pursued the matter, but he said he doesn't have a choice.
I feel I have to fight this case so I can get justice for my dead grandchild and earn a life free from nightmares," he said.
But life goes on . . .
Ntebaleng is now a mum to a baby girl.
Speaking to Daily Sun she said it was her then boyfriend who pushed her into aborting the baby.
She said: "He gave me R3 000 for an abortion, so I did it. I told the doctor I didn't want the child and my boyfriend didn't want it either so he gave me the pill," she said.
At the time she was worried about her mother's reaction, but her mother is no longer angry. "With my new baby, my mum is very supportive," she said.
