A sister-in-charge at Nyamandlovu Hospital, Zimbabwe, sustained injuries when he was allegedly assaulted by his wife for asking about her whereabouts, a Bulawayo magistrate heard.
Mr Tawanda Muchemwa on circuit in Nyamandlovu heard that Sinanzeni Sithole, (31) on Thursday, was facing a charge of physically abusing her husband, Mr Attan Dube in violation of the Domestic Violence Act.
The couple resides at Nyamandlovu Hospital's staff quarters.
It is alleged that on 6 July at about 9am, Sithole left her house without informing her husband about where she was going.
The court heard that after seeing that his wife had not returned, Mr Dube left the house at about 3pm going to Dwayi Business Centre in the area to drink beer.
Sithole later phoned him asking about the keys to the house and Mr Dube directed her to where he had left them.
In the evening, Mr Dube left the bar to go home and found his wife cooking while also drinking beer.
The court was told that Mr Dube, who suspected that his wife could be cheating on him, decided to confront her about where she had spent the day.
The two allegedly started quarrelling and Sithole started assaulting Mr Dube on the face and all over the body.
The case was withdrawn before plea when Mr Dube submitted an affidavit in court, saying they had resolved the issue with the guidance of their families.
Mr Dube further said he did not want his wife to be charged.
Mr Tawanda Tsatsa appeared for the State.
