Patrick Peta (52), a bus driver from Ga-Dikgale Village outside Polokwane in Limpopo, was ordered to pay R100000 for breach of promise to a woman he had a three months affair.
"This will turn me into a killer. I have to sit here while a woman I knew for only three months enjoys the money that's meant for my kids," said Patrick.
He said he could not defend himself in court because he never received a summons.
And when his wife found out about his affair she left him.
"This woman would visit me and sometimes sleep over," he said.
"But I never promised to marry her.
"I warned my mistress that my wife could come back."
When his wife came back his mistress (49) went wild, he claimed.
"She went around telling people she had bought me a car and furniture, but that's a lie,'' he said.
"I didn't spend any of her money."
That was five years ago, and since then an amount of R500 is deducted from his salary to pay off the judgment granted to his former mistress.
An amount of R100000 paid off at R500 a month will take more than 16 years to finalise!
"I regret ever meeting that woman," Patrick said.
"My wife is back home and she has to deal with this. I don't earn much yet a woman I don't really know gets this money from my salary every month.
"I'm fortunate that my wife has forgiven me. She believes we should fight this in court."
He's appealed against the judgment and hopes to have the decision overturned.
